The internal world of this crystal is fascinating.
It is super clear, although it´s not much apparent but that is because it has prominent growth lines. It´s also double terminated with the bottom termination having various terminations making it an Alien Quartz Crystal.
In its interior has vermicular chlorite, iron oxide, iron, light brown rutile needles and rainbows.
Such a rare and spectacular combination of minerals and colors.

This crystal also has a very rare formation. It´s a Bent Crystal.
This happens when a crystal suffers mechanical stress during its growth and breaks in some part of it, the resulting parts get sometimes displaced even just by a little so their axes are not parallel anymore. This newly broken surfaces are very instable and they grow quickly and so they heal themselves.  If this process repeats a few times and the crystal parts always get displaced in the same way, the result can be a crystal that is apparently bent.

Hashupi quartz crystals of high quality are a very rare type of Himalayan crystals, the higher the quality the higher the difficulty to get them, not only because of climate conditions and high altitudes, that makes miners only extract them for a few months a year but also because crystals of such high quality  have been very hard to find in the mines.

This crystal comes from Hashupi mine,  in  Shigar Valley, Shigar District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan.
